Flatbed Center for Contemporary Printmaking is dedicated to educational programming that promotes the appreciation and practice of printmaking. Our educational offerings include hands-on master classes taught by our expert instructors, connoisseurship forums, as well as tours and demonstrations to all age groups.

In addition to our regularly scheduled classes, we can work with your school, community program, or private group to schedule custom workshops on a wide range of topics relating to printmaking.
Our master classes, private classes, and events are designed to accommodate your schedule and provide an immersive art experience. We offer a range of opportunities for all ages and backgrounds, including:
Children’s tours and printing experiences offered to public schools
Regular classes, workshops, and adult connoisseurship seminars
Public gallery talks and demonstrations

Flatbed also offers extra studio time at a reduced rate for any workshop participants who would like to spend more time in the shop. Class Options
Private Classes
Flatbed offers private instruction to those who want one-on-one experience with specific techniques. Tutorials are available for intaglio, lithography, monotype, relief, and screen printing techniques.

Fees:
$125 for an hour tutorial
$250 for two hour tutorial
$500 full day tutorial
Custom Workshops
In addition to our regularly scheduled classes, we can work with your school, community program, or private group to schedule private workshops on a wide range of topics relating to printmaking and/or book arts. These workshops are great for corporate team building, school field trips, or even homeschoolers who are interested in art and want some hands-on experience!

Flatbed offers a selection of pre-designed themes for workshops in case you need brainstorming ideas! We can work together to design something completely unique or adjust any of the workshops listed below to fit your group’s skill level and interests. All workshops are invited to incorporate a “field trip” to our gallery for a mini art history lesson and some inspiration! Click here to view our custom-made workshops.
Tours/ Field Trips
Flatbed offers guided tours of our gallery, current exhibitions, and studios for print connoisseurs, collectors, schools, and other private groups. Teach a Class at Flatbed
Flatbed Center for Contemporary Printmaking invites printmaking instructors to submit proposals for classes or workshops. These proposals will be reviewed by our staff, and classes will be selected based on scheduling and interest.
PLEASE INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING IN YOUR PROPOSAL:
Brief introduction letter and 1 paragraph summary of the workshop and length
5 digital images of your recent work in the print media you are proposing to teach as JPEGS, and a corresponding image list
Availability
Application Deadline For Fall/ Winter Classes: (September - December) is August 1
Application Deadline For Winter/Spring Classes (January - May) is December 1
Application Deadline For Summer Classes (June - August) is March 1

CANCELATION POLICY
A 10% restocking fee will be subtracted from your total refund if you need to cancel your class enrollment more than 24 hours prior to the class start date.
If you cancel your enrollment less than 24 hours prior to it’s start date, you will receive a 50% refund for that class.
**We want to honor your purchase and are more than happy to apply your class cost to a different workshop that better fits your schedule if you do have to cancel for any reason.
