Katherine Brimberry

CO-FOUNDER/DIRECTOR
 

Brimberry is Co-founder, Director, and Senior Master Printer of the Flatbed Center for Contemporary Printmaking. Brimberry's expertise as Senior Master Printer is in the collaboration phase of intaglio or relief projects.  She has worked as a technical collaborator with artists such as James Surls, Julie Speed, Frank X. Tolbert 2, Trenton Doyle Hancock and Joan Winter, among many others. She is an experienced instructor of printmaking having taught printmaking at Texas State University, St. Edward’s University and Austin Community College.

Every other year, Brimberry directs and teaches a two-week workshop, Intensive Printmaking at La Romita School of Art in Terni, Italy. In her recent work, she combines printmaking techniques creating layered images picturing historic or futuristic aerial images of the landscape.  She was honored to be an artist in residence with an exhibition in Nis, Serbia in March 2019.

Mike Brimberry

ARCHIVIST/PROPRIETOR
 

Brimberry, a former high school English teacher and guidance counselor, has been with Flatbed Center for Contemporary Printmaking for the last 10 years serving as our Archivist and Proprietor. Brimberry has extensive knowledge of our print collection and loves to talk prints with anyone who walks in the door. He oversees our install and destall of each exhibition, expertly handling each fine art print.

Alyssa Ebinger

MASTER PRINTER AND EDUCATION & COMMUNITY PROGRAM MANAGER
 

Ebinger is a Tamarind trained Collaborative Lithographer and Flatbed’s Education/Community Program Manager. Ebinger received her BS in Art Education from the Minnesota State University of Moorhead. In 2016, she stepped away from teaching high school art to attend the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) where she completed her MFA. Ebinger studied printmaking with an emphasis in lithography along with bookmaking, drawing, and sculpture. She was the lithography Graduate Assistant for Ron Wyffels during her time at PAFA and continued to be his assistant after her graduation in May 2018.

Ebinger was accepted into Tamarind Institute’s Printer Training Program for the 2019-2020 year and continued her collaborative printer education as Tamarind’s Frederick Hammersley Apprentice Printer for 2020-2021. She has printed for artists Ellen Lesperance, Paula Wilson, Rose B. Simpson, Maja Ruznic, Ellen Berkenblit, Inka Bell, Benjamin M. Herndon, Miguel A. Aragón, Laura Berman, Jennifer Anderson, and many more.

Emery Spina

APPRENTICE PRINTER

Spina received his undergraduate degree from Skidmore College in 2020 and recently completed Tamarind Institute's Printer Training Program in 2022. He is well versed in all things printmaking and we cannot wait to see where this next year takes us!
