Navigating Patternscapes:

Tuition: $50 ( Please bring a flash drive, letter-size photos of your house/imaginary house, sharpie marker (twin fine/extra fine tip), X-acto knife- ALL other materials will be provided)

What do stripes symbolize? What does plaid symbolize? Patterns carry extrinsic, intrinsic and historical meanings. During this workshop, participants will learn the symbolic meanings of different patterns. A silhouette will be created from tracing a photo from your home or an imaginary house, using Adobe Illustrator with the help of the instructor. This silhouette and a provided pattern will be printed on paper with Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-4000S large format inkjet printer. Then, the image with the house will be cut out and overlaid on top of the pattern. Play with the fun visual effects between the two layers and create a story behind it!
