Flatbed is celebrating the holidays with an exhibition that highlights new work from collaborations at Flatbed Press during 2023.  This group exhibition includes work by Erika Huddleson (Dallas), Peter Leighton (Burnet), Laura Berman (Kansas City, MO),  Adrian Armstrong (New Haven, CT), Serena Perrone (Atlanta, GA), David Everett (Austin), Darden Smith (Austin), James Sullivan (Dallas),  Jeffrey Dell (San Marcos), Linda Ridgway (Dallas), Charlotte Seifert  (Houston), and Kyle Hawley (Austin).   All these artists collaborated with one or more of the Flatbed Printers, Alyssa Ebinger, Emery Spina, Matthew Magruder, and Katherine Brimberry at Flatbed's studio to create these works using printmaking media and methods.

This group show is diverse in concepts and style and shows a wide range of printmaking possibilities.  Huddleson’s four lithographs are stunning contemporary mappings and drawings of conserved prairie spaces near Fort Worth.  Leighton, well-known as a photographer, collaborated to create an amazing polymer photogravure, Willie,  from his 1973 photo image of Willie Nelson.  Berman’s finished Ravel lithograph suite is one of Flatbed’s 2023 finest achievements.  Armstrong’s new large etching, NY 001 is a tour de force of image and chine collé. Darden Smith has created two bodies of work at Flatbed this year.  We're showing monotypes from the Riot series and his new Airlie Suite etchings inspired by his recent residency in Scotland. Everett’s new woodcut, Cardinal, is his most recent colorful addition to his lexicon of Southwest fauna. Sullivan uses intaglio methods to explore space and light in two new exciting etchings.  Dell’s chine collé etching is a departure from intense color for him, but a deep dive into the nuances of intaglio beauty.  We are also proud to show one of Ridgway’s new poetic monotypes with hand drawing.  Seifert's monotypes are remarkable expressionistic images.  A captivating monoprint by Hawley is also featured in the exhibition.
