The studio at La Romita was once a Capuchin monastary chapel.

Every two years, Flatbed makes a trek to Terni, Italy with a group of artists. The plan is to let Italy’s magic start something new in their work. This workshop gives the artists space to try new techniques and to explore the rich hill towns of Umbria. In 2024, our Italian group was made up of aritsts, writers and readers. We aspired to “slow down,” listen, take time to explore and let the art happen. It was a memorable time, and this exhibition includes work inspired by the experiences.
