International Print Center Recognizes Lance Letscher's New Etching
During the Covid year of 2020, Flatbed stayed busy working one-on-one with artist Lance Letscher creating a new body of works using intaglio and relief techniques. Although an exhibition of the new projects is planned for November of this year, we were excited to that the International Print Center of New York has chosen Letscher’s “Flux” to exhibit this summer in their upcoming New Prints exhibition juried by Christiane Baumgartner titled “Lonely Hearts-New Prints 2021/ Summer. The exhibition presents 42 new artworks from 36 different artists located across the country and internationally. For information about the exhibition link to IPCNY New Prints.
Released in October of 2020, “Flux” is an ambitious color drypoint with a chine collé (collaged) soft-ground background. Lance who is known for his collage and constructed work, brings his methods of making repetitive marks to the copper matrices of “Flux.” He deeply scribed copper plates using a hand-made stencil to create a network of strong, fuzzy lines that veil and circumscribe an ambiguous space.
The image for “Flux” measures 24 by 24 inches and the overall paper size is 34 x 35 1/2 inches. See more about “Flux” and purchase through this link: FLUX
